The Philippines is still currently affected by the pandemic is in force to break away from old habits and instill new ones as we adjust to the new normal. Filipinos have opted to go back home to their provinces or have plans to look for affordable and quality houses like Lessandra home. They look for more accessibility and convenient location because they have realized that they can work from home. They can now experience the luxury of working at their own home instead of going to their office every day. Spending most of our days in our home workspace can get messy, disorganized, and all over the place, and this type of environment can impact your productivity. Have you experienced the same way? Here are some tips for having a more organized home workspace! Not only will it help you feel a lot better, but it will also help improve your total work output.

The list below is base on the website HappyRoutines that can help you to have a tidier workspace.

  • Take It One Step At A Time

Deadlines can feel overwhelming to the point that instead of being productive, you try to focus on lesser pressing matters instead of the ones you need to achieve. It’s impossible to cram all your to-do in just one full swing without having a diminished quality to your work output. The best thing is before you start your day, make a list of the things you need to do, from the most important to the least one. Learning to prioritize is simple but can help improve your overall work quality.

  • Give Objects A Home

Have a designated spot for everything! When you have a designated place for all your things it becomes easier because you’re not running all over your house looking for one thing that is constantly missing. Have a designated spot for the things you don’t always carry around, one example is your laptop. Placed it in your home where you usually use it, like on your working desk. When there’s a need to take it out, always put it back to where it belongs after every use. It also mentally helps you know that when you are in that area of your home, you ease into a trance-like state where you know you have to focus and get your work done.

  • Manage your Cables

Wires can get messy and frustrating. A quick solution is the obvious one, untangle them! Just make sure they don’t cross and overlap with each other that it is much more pleasant to look. If there are wires you don’t need in your work area, you can take them out. Just reach your headphones, USB cables, or phone charger if you need them.

  • Tidy Up Your Desktop

Listed above not only works in a physical things, but also with digital objects. Imagine what type of headspace you would be at if every time you turn on your computer, everything is all over the place and have no proper labels. If you could tidy up your physical home workspace, tidy up your digital workspace as well. Be able to let go of applications and files that are irrelevant to achieving your day-to-day tasks and constantly create folders for files so you know where to look the next you need it. Imagine how pleasant it must feel when every time you turn on your computer, everything is in the right place.

  • Create A Daily Routine

Give yourself at least 5 minutes every day to be able to declutter and stick to it. It’s counterproductive to let it pile up before cleaning it or cross the bridge when we get their type of approach when it comes to decluttering, you can afford to allocate 5 minutes every day in organizing your workspace. It will do wonders in the long run when it becomes part of your routine that you don’t even notice it that you’re doing it. You don’t have to stress on the little things and also, it never gets to a point when it is unmanageable anymore.

These are just some of the things you should try to incorporate to have a more productive workspace. You will not be running around the house all day trying to look for your phone charger because you know where everything is and don’t have to invest time and effort into trying to dig through your mess all the time. You don’t need a home workspace that is #minimalist or #wfhgoals. What matters is that you have a workspace that helps you to be more efficient and productive. Stay safe always!
