Must Watch: Movies and Series if you love Squid Game

Updated: Nov 4, 2021

Have you watched the movie Squid Game? If no then this is the perfect time to hop on the trend and watch it alone or together with your family. One of the biggest things on TV right now is the Korean drama Squid Game, an international Netflix series that has taken the world by storm and is apparently on its way to being the most-watched Netflix show of all time.

The series follows a group of participants battling in an underground competition in which they play various games for a huge cash prize. But if you're one of the millions and millions of people who have watched the whole series, you're probably looking for something else to watch. Something with people in life-or-death situations, playing money games, and dying horribly.

Here is the list of other movies that are about survival and demented movies like Squid Game:

Alice in Borderland

If you simplify Squid Game down to "you play and win a game OR YOU DIE!," then the Japanese Netflix series Alice in Borderland is the perfect follow-up. It follows a video game enthusiast and his two friends who mysteriously find themselves in a parallel Tokyo where they're forced to play various games to survive. Unlike Squid Game, the challenge is solving problems rather than competing against others, and once the games start, they keep coming. As does the grisly violence! [Watch on Netflix]

As the Gods Will (2014)

This supernatural Japanese film has also been trending lately since it has a similar kids'-games premise to Squid Game. A class of high school students has to undergo a series of trials set by "gods," giant animated versions of popular Japanese dolls that kill indiscriminately. Based on the trailer, this horror film may be even more bloody than the Netflix hit.

Escape Room

Escape Room,” a new PG-13-rated horror film, is a sometimes diverting, but overly familiar series of set pieces in search of a good melodrama. There’s not much of a plot: six disposable protagonists try to solve a series of inter-connected puzzles, and death is the penalty for failure.

3% (2016)

This dystopian show from Brazil is set a near-future São Paulo where 20-year-old residents of the impoverished Inland compete to be admitted into a utopian Offshore society through The Process, a difficult and sometimes deadly series of tests where only 3% of participants make it through.

OVERVIEW:

Netflix hasn't announced Squid Game Season 2 yet, and if you’re looking for some movies about survival then these movies are perfect for you. Here in Lessandra, we made it more possible for you and your family to enjoy watching movies together.

Given the restrictions in public spaces, theaters and cinemas have been closed. Themed movie nights became a stay-at-home trend, and a lot of devices became much more accessible and affordable. Devices like mini projectors help level up the experience, as projecting the laptop or iPad screens at walls seems just as good as watching at cinemas, It can also have an outdoor theme, setting the devices in your backyard or balcony. Imagine watching your favorite movie while enjoying your homemade popcorn and drinks at the comfort of your home.
